1894 30 WCF DOM- Update

Auction tomorrow has this rifle, not carbine, with 5 didget ser. # starts 65000. Has about 30-40% bluing, normal wear marks on wood. Full length tube. cresent but plate. Screws all look original & unmolested. Can't take pics but did hold it & inspect it. Nice old piece. Any ideas on DOM or approximate worth?

  I think to get a real accurate birth date, we are going to need one more number in the serial....possibly. There is a sticky that you can look it up on at the top of the ask the experts page. To do an accurate evaluation, we really need to see pictures...but a standard sporting rifle that is unadultered, and has 100 percent of all its original parts, would be worth $300.00-500.00, in 30-40 percent condition...once again...this assumes there is no special order features, and the bore is decent.

  Serial 65000 was manufactured mid year 1899. In the condition you describe, and if the bore is good, it is worth at least $1,000. How much more depends upon its "curb" appeal.

  Just an update- the rifle sold for $1600. I didn't buy it. Nice piece though.
