ruger mark ii grip eagle type original or not?

hello
i have a mark ii that is 1st year of production and another that is 10th year of production which set of grips is correct for it the one withe the red eagle both sides or the one with the black eagle one side?
thanks i just want to be correct. both of the guns have volquartsen grips on them and i want to be able to put back the originals or have the ability to put back the originals.

  i recently read a brief description of the grips you are asking about in the "blue book of gun values" when it was talking about the changes in different models. i can't quote it right now. if you don't get a more concrete answer from someone more well versed in the ruger mark ii i will look up the infromation and post it here for you.

  The very early Rugers many years before the mark II had a red background in the logo on the grips when Mr Rugers partner died Mr Sturm to homor him they changed the background to black.The original red eagle grips were 1949-1952. the MARK II 50th year also had red eagle grips but it also had crest on top of frame also red eagle grips on NRA limited edition.

  And, the 1982 limited stainless edition of 5,000 with Bill Ruger's signature engraved on the top came with a Red medallion on one side only. That was the first year of production for the Mark II.
