I searched this and came up with old info(2006)

Marlin came(back?) out with this gun, but I can't
find out much about it. Does anyone know if it is
discontinued again.

  Yes . Been discontuined. I have two for sale on the auctions.

  i think they make short runs as cabellas had some last month on sale for 499.99 and they make it in stainless steel

  I have 2 of the XLR version and love them shot a doe at 40yds last December with one she ran 30yds and dropped. I have a Winchester 9410 that I would trade for another one of the XLR's in the brown laminate do to poor accuracy compared to the XLR. Can not speak to the blued version but I would say for 499.00 I would take 2.
