.410 EXCEL Worth and year made?

I have a .410 EXCEL that I believe to be fairly old, I would to know the year it was made and the worth if possible. All I know is that it is a EXCEL .410 and there are numbers below the trigger that read "13714 XG". I am not sure if this is a serial number or maybe a batch number. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    some published works state EXCEL marked single barrel shotguns were manufactured by Cresent for H.D. Folsom Co. (wholesalers). this may be true of shotgun manufactured before 1910. my personal opinion is all EXCEL single barrel shotguns were manufactured by iver johnson and H.D. Folsom was simply a distributor and Cresent never made this brand name and all were manufactured after 1910. after 1910 the trade name "EXCEL" was used by Iver Johnson's Arms & Cycle Works on their less expensive line of single barrel shotguns based on the CHAMPION single gun. the only difference between the EXCEL and the CHAMPION was in the quality of wood and the finish, CHAMPION being the higher quality. an Iver Johnson single barrel shotgun with two letter suffix to the serial number was manufactured in the late 1920's.
