Bolt Extractor Question

Picked up a M/38 K. Kale Turk. Removed the extractor and checked the headspace (GO & NOGO) and everything checks out OK. It also closed on a Zoom Cap. I put the extractor back on and loaded a Zoom Cap and the bolt will not close (rotate). Won't close on a live round either.
Bolt operates very smooth and operates fine without the extractor.

Is it wore out? Any way to tell?

If I need to get another extractor, anybody making a new replacement?

    When you tried to load it, did you have it feed from the magazine?
    If you just dropped into the chamber and tried to close, the extractor will not over ride the rim.

    Thanks, that was it. I don't believe I had to use the magazine on my Swedes (M/94,M/38) or M48 Yugo. Is this a characteristic of the Turk or cock-on-open mausers?

    All Mausers (small and large rings) and indeed all controlled round feeding systems require you feed from the magazine.
