Krico .222 I.D. ???
Hi..trying to get more specific info on the above
I have an opportunity to buy
-.222
-full stock
-approx 21.5 inch barrel
-no model # on bbl but has #1157 [not serial #]
-single non -adj trigger
Trying to determine age/model #/value [w/o scope but with mounts]
any help is appreciated

Sweet Looking I would say one would be hard pressed to find one under $850.00 and most likely $1000.00 if in that condition 0 -
According to Frank de Haas's book, the rifle is the Model 600 "S", "Stutzen". They had been imported in small numbers, over the years. If your doesn't have a importers name, a G.I. might have brought it back from Europe. De Haas doesn't give any values, except saying that the "Stutzen" was top of the line money wise. 0 -

Thank you for including the photograph at the start of your thread. It appears to in very good condition. Is the scope a Redfield? And are the mounts labeled with a manufacturer's name?
It looks like a very nice example of a Krico 400 series Stutzen (full stock) rifle. These differed from the series 600 by the protruding magazine as opposed to the flush magazines in the 600. You'll also note that these are similar to Model 527 rifles manufactured by CZ.
Representative models in Europe are currently listed at approximately Euros 500.00 or about $650.00 USD. Usually though, a rifle wearing a Stutzen stock commands more from the American public. Then too, you add in the scope and mounts of course and you may be close.
If you use the search button in the upper right corner of any page and type in the term 'krico', you'll get a couple of good threads about this model and later models.

- I have previously sent an e-mail with pictures to KRICO and await a response
-I have used the search feature for KRICO...but did not find too much related
-I'll try to do a little more research on the 400/600

I have found it in the 1960 and 1961 shooters' bible. Appears to be an exact match. It is simply called 'Krico carbine', and was offered with either single or double trigger. A short action for the .222.
So now that I have that info I just have to figure price...from 2 of the replies, estimates have been from $650 [+ mounts...scope is not included] to $1000.
The 'ask' is in the higher end of that range

Although the carbine appears to be in excellent condition in the photos, if it's indeed that old, the bore might not be in that good of shape. Check with the seller if possible, About how much it has been shot? Was he the original owner? Was the rifle fired with reloads? Accuracy with quality commercial ammo? etc. 0 -
bore...good point.....I am normally a .22 collector and usually bores are not an issue...however I completely forgot to consider that on an older center fire.....thank you

The scope - looks like a Redfield as was the industry leader in those days - may not be included or of interest to you, but be sure to get the scope mounts. They look like Conetrols, one of the few places making mounts for less common rifles. 0 -
all..just got a note from Krico [Arndt G. Kriegeskorte....1 day response time ] who confirmed it is a 400 stutzen produced November -1957.....1157...
