Rem Spartan double barrel 45-70
Anyone have one or has shot one? Any info and what prices are they going for?[8D]

Do these things even exist yet? I've been hearing about them for about 5 years, never seen one actually for sale. 0 -
There are some reports on them at the Accurate Reloading and Nitro Express boards. Some are pretty good, some are pretty sad, some are so-so. Some DIYs in there, too. 0 -
they've been on the auction boards for a few months now..right here on GunBroker as an example.Also out in 30-06.
I had a yen for one in both calibers until I handled them...the wood work is horrid, the metal to wood is worse and they are selling slowly @ $800ish for the 45-70 and $700 for the '060 -

I've seen the 30.06 on occasion, agree the wood and quality looks terrible. I believe these are made overseas, Baikal or Turkish maybe. Too bad someone doesn't make one in the $1,500.00 to $2,000.00 range. Inexpensive for a double but enough that it should be of good quality.0 -
Remington bought out the contract from EAA an is importing them from Baikal. IMHO they are at best a $400 gun 0 -
Buy yourself a Valmet model 412 or 512 they have interchangeable ball sets double shotgun barrels one shot barrel one rifle barrel and double rifle barrels . on top of that you can adjust the point of impact between the barrels most double rifles only shoot to same point of impact with one weight bullet at one velocity and one distance. The double rifle barrels go up to 9.3 X 74R equal to 375 H&H. [^][:p] 0 -

I've looked around the net, the Valmet website shows auto rifles. Any tips as to where to find a 412 or 512?0 -
Hello dfletcher look on this website under shotguns Then Valmet. Currently there are 8 but only 2 combo shotgun rifle barrels model I did check under rifle parts and one complete gun 30-06 over 30-06 Also one scope mount but I like my way better. I did not look at shotgun parts. only one double rifle barrel set at this time but they show up often I love the fact That you can adjust P.O.I. between the shot gun and rifle barrel or rifle to rifle barrels. . I have 4 sets of barrels for my receiver and use it to hunt everything 12Ga. 3 inch & 223 12Ga 3 Inch and 243 12Ga 3inch 30-06 and sporting clays barrel set with choke tubes . They sell a scope mount but it is not pleasant to look at and not cheap I mill out a small piece to fit the rib scope stop and use steel 22 rings this limits the size of the scope bell but I use a 2x7 variable scope that works well . My 243 barrel shoots sub .500 groups at 100 yards. This IMHO is an unsung GREAT firearm system I used to hunt with Drillings But like this system much better I installed EUROPEAN double trigger option after touching off a 3 inch mag when I wanted to shoot the 223 when I had single select trigger . The double trigger allows for the rifle trigger to be adjustable. 0 -

There will be no more shotguns or rifles imported with the Remington name on them. I got this info directly from Remington. All the models are being discontinued.
