Hopefully you guys remember from yesterday Here are more pics that hopefully will help with more info But what I got from yesterday This is a rebuild that only the bayonet and stock were replaced Or IS it possible that the SKS was origianly built this way/ Or none of the above thanks

You're right Mike, the finish IS better than most. That's because it is the original blue, unlike most imports which were painted black when they were rebuilt. And, that should bring a higher price than average.
But, I really can't see enough of the rifle.
You are going to have to learn to take pictures without the flash, & show the entire rifle. You also need to show all parts with the Russian serial number, as collectors want to know if they are factory matched, force matched, or mixed.
I see repainted Russian SKS's selling for > $500, which is crazy. If you are listing it here on GB, you only need to worry about the lower end value; the higher end value is whatever someone is willing to pay.

Unfortunately although being in nice shape, the stock isn't original. Note the date and markings as compared to the date on the top of the receiver. Also the blade bayonets on the early production Russian SKS's were finished with appears to be a satin chrome plating, rather then being blued as the later Arsenal reworks were.
Because of this I would list it at $400 minimum bid, and hope for the best. With the way things are nowadays you might get a couple of "HOT" bidders wanting it, who would drive the price up considerably higher.0 -
Yes I noticed the year didnt match but the 4 digits match all other serial #s Receiver cover, magazine, trigger guard etc
thanks for info and will start at 400.00 there is one now up to 400.00 that shows its a refurb due to the box with the slash through it and not even close to condition this one is in. Guess ya never know. Wasnt quiet sure what you are sayng about bayonet

Your rifle has been through a Russian arsenal. THAT is when the stock & bayonet were swapped out. There may be other parts that were replaced, which is why you need to take it apart for photos before you list it. (The fixed part of the magazine under the wood may have a number on it.)
The good thing is, your rifle wasn't painted when it was repaired. Half the folks buying these rifles today don't really know what they are looking at, they just know that the Russians are the best. And, yours looks better than most. Period.
If you have trouble getting good photos, it will be worth your while to pay a professional to take the pictures.

EDIT: Mike, although your rifle has been through a Russian arsenal, that doesn't mean it was rebuilt; it was probably just repaired. It appears that the stock was force-matched by stamping the SN; they used an electric pencil to force-match metal parts such as the magazine. But, I wouldn't worry about any of this; just show lots of photos, & let the bidders figure out exactly what it is.0 -

There is to many things about this and dont want to mislead anyone. Ive been reading about Buttplates, black bolts etc. But I do think like you if anything was replaces it was the stock and bayonet, I will put it in your hands
