Winchester 94 with a BIG LOOP LEVER
I recently purchased a Winchester 94 30-30 with a Big loop lever. It was made in 1968 according to the serial number. Very good condition. Does anyone know about this gun and why does it have the big lever, were they made that way in 1968. And what is the value I paid 245.00. Thanks

If the condition is very good or better, you did fine on price. The large loop lever was not put on everything in 1968, but may have been featured on some promotional models. The large loop levers have also been available after market, and a previous owner may have installed one. Both John Wayne and Chuck Connors had roles using large loop levers on lever action rifles, which gave them some popularity. 0 -

US Repeating arms made some of the the model 94's with a 16 inch barrel. Called them "Wrangler" but not in 1968. 0 -

HIDEBUYER got it right. Got a 94 myself that was my father in laws. The description you gave of yours matches mine to a T. Had to go look and make it is still on the wall. The large loop thing on mine, dad did purposely to look like 'The Rifleman'. I'm curious how much you paid for yours as I have no idea of the value of them. 0 -

Actually, both "The Rifleman" and "Rooster Cogburn" used Model 92's, not 94's.
