Model 12 - what is it worth ?

New to the forum, just trying to get an idea of what this gun is worth ?

Model 12 - 20 ga, fixed full choke - says nickel steal barrel on the barrel. I know the barrel has patent dates starting at 1908 or something.... I would like to know roughly how old the gun is..This gun was my great grandfathers but we have little history on it.

We did get the gun refurbished about 15 years ago ( probably a mistake) The stock and forearm were replaced. The forearm currently on the gun is not the original model 12 type... I'm sure this hurts the value.

Another question - where can I get the "original type" forearm and stock?

  You can find a pretty exact date here using the SN#.
  
  Refurbished killed the value for resale, but if it's going to stay in the family not the worst thing in the world. Would sell for a couple of hundred in pawn shops around here depending on the shape.
  
  The top of the Winnies in the picture below will be pretty close in age to yours for reference. It's a 1919 SN in the 194,###. Nickel Steel- not refinished though.

  The Cody Fireams Museum has very little information concerning the Model 1912/12. If you provide the serial number, I can pin down the DOM to within several months of when it was made.
