Colt double-action problem
I have a Colt Police Positive 32-20 that fires fine on single action but will not fire via double-action.
On both the firing pin idention on the primer is to the left of center, very close to the edge. The indentions left in sa and da are very close to the same depth.
I had a gunsmith fix the timing on the revolver. He had it for about 4 months to fix that issue. I really don't want to leave it with him again. He is logged jammed with repairs and just had hip surgery to boot. There are very few smiths here and none seem to be very good. He's the best I found. Of three pistols I took him, one was fixed right the first time, one was taken in twice and never fixed successfully (I did the last fix on this one) and this revolver is the third.
It has a new mainspring and some other parts were replaced but I don't remember which ones.
Any ideas?

Get another gunsmith who has experience with and understands Colt DA revolvers.
Your cylinder timing needs to be fixed.0 -
+1 on v35 if he had it for 4 months he does not understand how to work on a colt revolver STOP shooting this pistol it is NOT locking up properly if the fireing pin dent is off center the cylinder is also off center and the bullet is not properly lined up with the barrel this could damage both you and the pistol . You might want to try Gander Mountain and seek a colt revolver PISTOL SMITH these can be very good pistols but not many people can work on them with good results. 0 -
