1911 slide

I recently purchased a box of "stuff" which included a Colt military marked slide. It has no finish left, but no rust or damage either. It has the firing pin and the rest of the associated rear parts. It would be pre-WW2 according to a friend who examined it for me. I'm trying to figure out a value. Any help would be appreciated.

  At one time I had a slide marked SPACE RESEARCH CORP. So far no one can tell me who made the slide. The handgun had an essex frame so it must have been built up from parts. shot and functioned well.

  Hard to guess without a picture, but it is probably for the elevation screw of an adjustable sight. The most common Bomar required that even if mounted in the GI dovetail.
