Armscor 206 snubby .38

I've been looking at one and reading more positive than negative on these pistols. Not made in the USA so I'm not happy with that but it's a Colt clone which I REALLY like [:D]. So anyone have any experience with 'em? Thanks, X

    No experience with them, but Armscor is the same group that imports the Rock Island 1911s. They have great customer service and go the extra mile should they need to.

    I'd be wary. Centerfire Systems was selling these. They had both new ones and broken gunsmith special ones. Never a good sign with a brand new gun. I handled one in a shop, felt really really cheap.

    If you want a Colt, why not save your money and buy an actual Colt?

    Personally, I don't know why I would want to take a chance with a Colt replica when I can get an authentic Smith and Wesson for not that much more.

    Edit: You're looking at maybe $325-$350 for a used Smith J frame (or less for a used Taurus or Charter arms gun), vs $200-$210 for this Colt, so I guess it is a lot more, but you can still find a Smith model 10 for around $250.

    A used Colt will never go down in value, and in fact might even appreciate. Probably the same is true of a Smith, but these Armscor guns. . .who knows.

    I'd go with a new Charter Arms, used S&W, used Colt, or used Ruger over that one.

    My father bought one. Ordered it from Firingline. Total cost including shipping and FFL was $218. You ain' gonna get a Colt for that. And it's not Colt quality either. It is IMO a fairly well made and serviceable gun. We haven't shot it alott, so can't comment on long term relibility.

    I have the 4" version of what you are interested in. Mine is surprisingly accurate. It is NOT a Colt or Smith. For someone on a budget, I say this is a good choice. I usually purchase good quality pistols and the only cheap gun I own is a Davis 22 mag Derringer. For the money it is OK. If you have the money, I would get something better. I have shot about 150 rds through mine so far without any problems.

    Get a used Ruger security six or police service six. A little more, but much better.
