Maybe You Guys Could Help Me With This?

This was in the General Forum, but maybe I should post in this forum. I need help before I make a decision.
<<<I sold a remington a few weeks ago to a guy and now he wants to return it or get a substantial refund! He says the finish is not nickel and that it is polished metal. Can you tell in the pictures whether or not he's right? I made a video and everything to show it as best as possible!

Some people were helpful, one person said it would rust if it weren't nickel, another one said it's not nickel. [:(]

    it's NOT Nickle plated from what i can see in the video, there would be a very high luster finish, almost like "Silver" plus, on an old piece like that it would seem to have some Nickle plating worn off in some areas as in holstering.

    You don't make any claims in your auction add regarding the factory originality of the Remington. As I read the add, you just state it's a 1875 Remington. Your photos are of very good quality, compared to a lot of others I've seen on the auctions. If the bidder had any questions about the finish he should of contacted you prior to the end of the auction. To me the finish on the Remington doesn't appear to be nickel plate, at all.

    My guess is that it's just a case of buyer remorse. Since you never advertised the revolver as either being factory original or nickel plated, i don't see how the bidder has a legal recourse in this matter.

    It looks like there are some remnants of nickel plating on the gun.

    Maybe I didn't examine the descriptions closely enough, but I don't think you stated the finish is nickel.

    If you didn't advertise it as nickel, and the buyer examined the pictures, and bought it, he has no beef and no cause for refund.

    this happens more than you think. some people do it just to try and get the product at a better price or at least some kind of refund. i would tell him no thanks and enjoy his purchase.

    I agree with the above posters, but I do think the gun was nickle plated at one time and has worn off (or been buffed).

    I'll have to agree, there is no mention of nickle or that the finish is original. There are plenty of pictures to see what is there or what isn't there. I think the buyer is stuck with it.

    agree, great pictures , sold AS IS as stated, you are not responsible for buyers remorse

    Thanks guys for your opinions, I really needed them. However, I emailed the guy telling him to send the gun back. He didn't respond yet. I figured he was just trying to take advantage because I'm a woman, and he knows I'm not knowledgeable on guns. He probably just wants a significant discount. I don't think so!

    Sounds like the buyer is the one NOT knowledgeable. Good sportsmanship on your part though.
