Need assitance finding article on .45 vs. Lugar

I am doing a research on John Browning's 1911 pistol. I remember about a year ago reading in some gun magazine an article recounting a WWI (Maybe WWII)private battlefield pistol gunfight between a US soldier with a 1911, and a German officer with a Luger--I think it was a Artillery with a butt stock. The US guy won, and picked up the Luger as a souvenir. I kick myself for not buying the magazine then and there. I cannot find the account on the web. If anyone can point me to the magazine with the article in question, it's year and issue number, perhaps I can contact the publisher and get a copy. Thanks.

    The Artillery Luger was a good idea executed in a poor fashion.
    The Artillery barrel mounted a neat sight adjustable for distance and drift. Had such a sight been built into the rear toggle link, as on the Navy Model, it would have been a pistol to be reckoned with at long range.
    As it was, the Artillery Model with its' 8" barrel had a shorter sight radius than the standard Luger with its' 3 5/8" barrel.
    For this reason it comes as no surprise the 1911 won that match.
