headstamp ?

I have some .308 brass and the headstamp is LC 08 LR. What does the LR stand for? Long Range? There is no nato stamp on it and the primers have no crimp but clearly says LC 08

  Yes the LR stands for "long Range" This is the current 7.62mm Nato round used by snipers. It features a 175 gr match HP bullet. The older M118 version had a 173 gr FMC bullet.
