G. Gamba O/U shotgun

small gauge

need help finding value for a G.Gamba 12 ga. O/u shootgun...Modle 7312....original boehler...century Arms Inc. St, Albans V.T. on the barrel...Ser.# 59xxx...was told the gun was purchased in Italy pre 1967...nice walnut but straight grain, vine type ingraving...the gun is as new but, has been shot...I'm hitting dead ends, any help would be appreciated...

  Date of manufacture will be shown in the Italian Proof Marks on the shotgun. One of which is a coded date. Century has been the largest importer/distributor, of mostly ex military firearms for many years.
  The commercial firearms Century has imported over the years have been mostly utility quality guns. I wouldn't get your hopes up that the Gamba would be any different. Chances are, at the most it would be a very good quality hunting/sporting type shotgun. Check the on-line gun auctions for the prices that Italian shotguns are bringing, not the asking prices, but the actual selling prices. Use that as a rough reference to get a ball park price on yours.

  I think the "good" Gamba is the Renate Gamba. Likely, in your case, a decent quality, utility grade gun as R-S mentioned. Lack of choke tubes has limited these guns resale performance wise in recent years too.
