pondering
I would like an estimate of the value of a couple of my guns for insurance purposes.

Herters 22 cal revolver

    I have several guns I need to sell to assist in paying the funeral of our Daughter who passed away from Sarcoma. She was only 46 and had no insurance.

    If any one can assisit me in determing a price I would greatly appreciate it.

    We have no way of helping you without knowing the condition of the guns. The best thing to do would be to go on the two large internet gun auctions. See what the actual selling prices are for these guns, to get a ball park value. All of them are common U.S. models that were made in quantity. The only one you might have trouble pricing is the Colt Junior, which was assembled from Spanish made parts in the U.S. In average condition it would probably be valued in the $150-$250 range.

    The 38 Super, if that good would be a $2000 item. So, if it is a homeowner policy that one alone will push half the typical limit....and it is more than the NRA basic member deal.

    My shirt-tail relatives were the thieves when my Great Uncle passed, they got his gold and diamonds.

    All of these guns were like new, he treasured and maintained them from day one. He was the original purchaser.
    [I found 2 colt jr's on Gun Broker that had very close serial numbers which were $1,250 for both or $650 each, but they had not sold

    [I did find two for sale on Gun Brokers one for $2,199 the other $2,200, I have not been able to find the Rugar. Thank you and rufe-snow for replying. This research has really been hard for me.]

    Ruger 22 $250.00 for insurance.

    The insurance companies are a real hard nose bunch, when it comes to the valuation of firearms. No offense meant, but they will laugh in your face. When you tell them that the value of the Colt Junior is $650., and the .38 Super is $2,200.

    I bought a minty Junior for $350 a couple months ago. the same gun labeled Astra(spain) is about $200 (Astra made the junior for colt)
    a fair estimate on the 38 super is $1800, but if its 95% or better could go to $2100.
