Jennings .22 slide 'flying off'
My grandpa and uncle both have one of these little craptastic pieces and both have had the same problem: When at the range shooting(without any prior shooting or takedown)the slide of the weapon flew off the frame(to the rear, nearly resulting in loss of ear) during recoil. It sounded pretty odd to me,especially since both pistols did the exact same thing, but I was wondering if anybody else out there that has braved one of these pistols has experienced something of the same sorts?

I have one and never experienced this problem. I've fired less than 100 rounds through it though. 0 -

A general rule about guns is that you get what you pay for. Never owned a Jennings, but it seems their quality control is consistent from gun to gun. [:(] 0 -

Huh? The slide has the barrel running thru the center of it. How does the slide fly to the REAR ? Not a big fan of the J-22, but again- HUH? 0 -
+1 on 11b6r all the Jennings I ever saw to take the slide off you depressed a small plug in the rear then tipped the slide up at the rear and the slide came off the front. [?][?][?][?] 0 -
Yeah that's why this all sounded so weird to me. I'm going to pick up the pistol today and look at it to see what's going on. I don't think I would keep one of these things even if somebody gave it to me. I'll investigate and report back. 0 -

With a "High End" weapon like the Jennings, one might consider
a different Defense Tactic!
Turn your back on the Bad Guy, Tilt head to side, fire pistol
forward and the "Perp" will be neutralized when the slide strikes
him in the head.
And defense in court should be trouble free!0
