8mm Black tip ammo Edited
Couple of weeks ago I bought two ammo cans full of 8mm mauser loose rounds. There is approximately 1200rounds, mostly full metal jacket dated 1942. Mixed in with it I have found about 50 rounds of copper jacketed dated 1952, but the ones I am questioning is about 50 rounds with copper jackets and black tips. About a 1/4" of the tip is painted black. These were all dated 1950. What does the black tip designate?

See how a magnet reacts on the bullets. Odds are, you may have AP. Fn made a bunch of this- steel jacketed bullets. What is the enteire headstamp? 0 -
If your 8mm ammo is the same as the stuff the Germans used in WW-2
it will be tracer. (their color for TR was black)0 -

OK- betcha a beer you have Turkish 8mm. The TOC is actually a T, Crescent and Star, and C 79 should be 7.9- the caliber, made in 1951. 0
