HK Tactical 45 ? about threded barrel

Can the HK Tactical be fired WITH OUT anything screwed on the barrel ? Or will the pressure crack the barrel on the end if shot with just bare threds ? I know if ya screw the compreser off a 300 wim mag and fire it it blows the muzzle to bits where the thredes are,or where..Thanks.Oro

  You are probably fine. I can fire my Beretta 92 that has an extended threaded barrel without any issues. And the 9mm has higher pressures than the 45acp.

  I'd like to know where this came from. I have neither heard of this happening or seen it happen ever.
  
  A threaded muzzle should always hold up to being shot without a suppressor, muzzle brake or anything else. Otherwise there wouldn't be a gunsmith around that would thread a muzzle due to the automatic liability. There may be exceptions but I can't think of one right now. It sounds like more internet BS to me.

  Yeah I am willing to bet that 300 Win Mag burst for other reasons, if at all. Most likely from water or something else in the bore.

  But, a cap is always a good idea for a threaded barrel; without a cap, if you accidentally rap it against something hard, you will ruin the threads.
