1895 Winchester rear sight???
Hello,
There was a recent auction on ebay showing a "Winchester-Springfield-Krag rear sight". Model 1901 type 3". It is a ladder sight with a grooved adjustment prong that sticks out over the front of the base for windage adjustment. Seller claims that it came off of an 1895 WINCHESTER SRC. I have never seen this sight on any Winchester and I can find no reference to it in my limited book collection/
Did Winchester ever use this sight on a 1895 Carbine?

The Springfield Krag Model 1901 sight was used on the First and Second variation Model 1885 Single Shot Winder Muskets. I am not sure if the same sight was used on the Model 1895 Carbine or not, but it would not shock me if it was.
