Help! Is this 7.65 an Astra???

I am trying to ID this handgun but can't quite figure out what it is... It looks very similiar to the Astra but the markings are different & it is not marked Astra.

It is marked: FABRIQUE D'ARMES de GUERRE CAL 7.65 & Made in Spain. Nothing else besides serial number & what looks like an ornate letter "N" on the mag. The serial 51039, can anyone put a date of manufacture on this gun? Any history??

    Any other info? Year made - brand? I figured it wasn't worth much but gotta sell it regardless for the client.

    It's a Spanish made, "Ruby Type" pistol. They date to the World War I era. Made specifically as a substitute standard pistol for the French Army. Many different Spanish manufacturers made these pistols under contract for the French. They were all similar in appearance, other then the different manufacturers markings.

    The "Ruby Type" pistols were imported and sold as surplus in the States during the 60's. I remember that the going price then, was about 20 bucks. Considering that your's as been rode hard and put away wet, it ain't going to be worth a heck of a lot.

    It looks like a gun that Triple K says was made by Beistegui Hermanos in Eibar, Spain. They were one of the 46 known makers of Ruby type pistols for the French in WW I and commercial sale afterwards. They made guns from 1909 until sometime in the 1920s when they changed over to bicycles. They are still building bicycles 80 years later.
