9mm carbine

Does anyone have any experience with 9mm AR base rifles, looks like a fun rifle to own/shoot. Also should the load be different than a handgun load, like slower powder.

    Are there any 9mm carbines on the market besides the obvious hi-point, keltec or beretta?

    Several companies make ARs in the caliber, even Olympic has one that takes Glock mags. There are also kits to convert a glock pistol to a carbine. Don't forget the older Marlin Camp 9 (and Camp 45).

    Several others on the new or used market you could pick from:


    Uzi carbine.

    Colt 9mm AR-15 and numerous clones.

    Ruger PC-9.

    Marlin Camp 9.

    Plus some obscure ones like the Calico in 9mm,

    If you get lucky you may find a used Marlin Camp 9. Takes Smith 59 magazines, work fine and can be scoped. I paid $299.00 for mine, they seem to be gaining in popularity & prices going up.

    You can also buy a Mech Tech unit, attach a Glock to the thing.

    Some one makes a rifle version of the banned feather 9 pistol. the calico carbines are easy to find and look cool. They use 100 or 50 round drums, The extra drums cost alot tho.


    If you want cool get a good mp-5 clone. The good mags cost alot, but you can get beta drums, and thats just cool. there used to be PDW configured guns, those are my favs.

    i've got a colt 9mm ar, and i love it. With the Colt mags it feeds everything 100% of the time. It cost quite a bit, and mags are not cheap, but it does not missfeed anything from 90 grn to 170 grn bullets, ball or hp. Funny thing is, 20 round mags were more than the 32 round mags.
