Rem Model 700-First month of mfg??

A while back, I bought a Remington Model 700 ADL carbine, ser. no.21XX with barrel codes of "cj" which indicate a mfg date of April '62. Extrapolating backwards from the serial number of another 700 I bought new in '66, I'm guessing that it was made in the first few months of manufacture. Does anyone know during which month of '62 Remington began making 700's? I called the factory and they would not give out that info since 700's are still in production. Thanks.

  Google Remington Society they may have that info.

  I've gone the RSA site numerous times(even tried to register a couple of times w/out luck)and they have the codes for mfg dates but I couldn't find any mention of first month of mfg.of Model 700's. Any ideas? Thanks.
