Mossberg 320k?!?!?!

My father-in-law just bought a heavily used mossberg 320k, rusted bad, but the chamber and barrel are ok. He gave $100 for it. I think he got took but I cant really find anything about this gun. Its a single shot .22 caliber mossberg. Can anyone give me a estimate of what it was worth and how old are they?

  Maybe, $100 for a really nice one, but for a rusty one, half that or less.

  Any idea how old it is? It has 320k on the barrel and no serial number.

  The Mossberg 320K was made 1958-1960. The 320K-A was made 1960-68. With the exception of arms made for the US military (such as the 44US) Mossberg did not serially number 22 rifles until the 1968 Gun Control Act required it. http://home.epix.net/~damguy/models.htm

  These are good rifles. I've owned several over the years and currently have 2. One for me, one for the wife. Very accurate.
