help w/ two old Remington Shotguns

The first is a mod 11, 1924 vintage s# 280988 which appears to be nothing special; standard grade but in good condition for a gun this well used. Blue is about 50% and action seems to cycle smoothly - bore is bright. Wood is oil stained, appears original and in good condition; no bad gouges or cracks, ditto the forend. Barrel is full choke and measures 27" from face of receiver to muzzle. Unusual length, esp. for a full choke - I think it may have been chopped - any way to tell? Perhaps this isn't the proper way to measure the barrel, if overall length it is obviously longer.

Second gun is a mod. 31 16 Ga., also standard or field grade. It appears to be a well used - don't know much more except wood and condition are good. Bright bore. cycles smoothly and appears to still be "tight".

I can pick up these two for $400. I thought of giving both a thorough cleaning, giving the Mod 11 news bushings etc. and using both as working guns. Does this seem a reasonable value?
Anything in particular to be wary of?

    thats about top dollar for those..but if you like vintage remington go for it

    to measure the barrel lenght drop a rod down the barrel with the bolt closed then measure the amount of rod in the barrel. yours is probaly 28".
