    Look at the sticky at the top of this forum entitled Serial number references. B ert H put it there so that people could do just what you are attempting. Near the bottom is a link to the Cody museum, and it will likely get you what you need.

    OK here goes nothing. I am not real handy with either a computer or a camera so let me know if this works with the pics. I will post the info that I have for each one and hopefully a pic. If these don't work let me know and I will try again.

    1. Model 1894, caliber is 32-40, serial number is 501110, magazine ends at the forearm
    and the barrel is approximately 26"

    2. Model 1894, caliber is 30-30, serial number is 2725417, full length magazine and the
    barrel is approximately 20"

    3. Model 70, caliber is .308, serial number is 731325, 4 round magazine, magazine drop,
    barrel is approximately 20". It has a bausch n lomb scope 2.5x8 x32, in weaver rings.
    It is missing the front and rear sights (I will look for replacements at a later time).

    Well, my 225 model 70 is in the 770,000 range putting it in 1964 from what I recall, so that SHOULD be a pre-64, and worth looking up with the info I listed above.

    Your model 70 was made in 1964. The 225 mentioned is a 1965 model. Bert will be along and help you out with the 94's.

    1894 Serial# 501110 Mfg date: 1909
    1894 Serial# 2725417 Mfg date: 1964

    Winchester Model 1894 Sporting Rifle serial number 501110 was not manufactured in the year 1909. Instead, it was manufactured in the latter half of the year 1911.

    Winchester Model 94 serial 2725417 is a 1964 vintage Carbine
