Seecamp Exploded View of Colt 1911 Conversion

Did Seecamp ever provide any exploded parts drawings showing the pistol with all the parts that were used in the Colt 1911 Pistols that they converted to double action? If they or someone else didn't furnish any such drawings, then this will probably be a really, really short posting.

If there were any exploded view drawing furnished with this conversion or made of this conversion, I'd like to know where I could possibly get a copy. I'd be just as happy with some good after market photocopies that anyone may have found of this conversion if there aren't or weren't ever any originals furnished with this conversion.

I "Googled" Seecamp and found some helpful info but not exactly what I was looking for or would like to have. I found what looks like the patent drawing for this conversion, but I'd prefer an exploded parts views and parts list (if available) similar to those found in the Colt 1911s owners manual which accompany all Colt 1911 type pistol if any such items exist.

    I would check the several 1911 sites & do a search for either Seecamp, ODI, or Viking. You should find some pictures of the actual conversion.

    I believe Seecamp licensed his conversion to Omega Defense Industries (ODI) who manufactured the Viking. They went bankrupt & the remaining assets were purchased by Essex. Essex produced several frames for the ODI parts & may have an archive copy of the instruction booklet. Also, if you go to the Seecamp Forum Homepage; under convesions there is a recent post with pictures of the ODI kit.

    There was nothing furnished with the conversions. I had a Combat Commander converted in the early 1970s, which I still have, and then sold several conversions thereafter to others. I probably have some promotional literature if I looked, but I doubt there is an exploded view in any of it. The only parts used in the conversion were the hinged trigger, transfer bar and plate that covered the machined channel in the frame for the transfer bar. The rest of the parts were modified original parts. If you go on the Seecamp site

    I believe there is still a demand for these conversions, but Seecamp is too busy building guns to worry about that.

    That clears up what I thought was probably the case concerning this conversion, but I had to give it a try. You never know what might turn up on stuff.
