Winchester 115 primers

A shooter friend of mine is trying to find some Winchester 115 primers for an old round he has, but he has not found them in any of the normal places. Does anyone know where some of the old Winchester #115 primers might exist?

    Hello If your friend has an old reloading manual it may list 115 as the primer of choice. However these are not current numbers of winchester primers However we may be able to tell your friend what number of current production will work if we know what cartridge is wants to reload.

    EDIT I will look and see if I have some old stock I have all my primers stored in cool dry storage and have some old Stock but I don't know if that old. [;)]

    My friend understands that the Winchester 115's have not been produced in quite awhile, but he likes the performance they gave him with lead bullets in his 30 BR. The 115's apparently were pretty mild primers and worked well with his pet loads.

    Aren't the Win 115's the same size as Rem 7.5&CCI-BR4's [?]

    i loaded a few rounds of 3006 with the old winchester primers that came in the little slider wooden boxs, i don,t know how old they were,maybe over 50 years and they went off with no problem. when i was a boy i had a 1917 rem. in 3006 and got a few clips of ww-1 3006 and they fired with out a problem. so i would use old primers if they were stored right. eastbank.(i would clean right away after shooting)

    As I posted in an earlier forum, the Win. 115 is the predecessor to the Win 120. The 115's were fine with easy to ignite powders like 3031, 4198 etc. They were marginal with any of the early ball powders.
    The 120 was Winchesters answer to that problem.
