mag type for wwII underwood m1 carbine

which magazines will work with my underwood 30 m1 carbine. It was made in dec. 1942 I don't know which ones are compatable. Prefer 30 round clips if they work. Thanks

    Use the 15rd mags. Most 30rd mags are aftermarket and not very good, those that are, usually require you to change out you M1 mag catch for an M2 carbine mag catch.

    The 30rd magazines are a poor design, since the M1/M2 Carbine reciever does not allow for a naturally curved mag like on an AK.

    wermacht_45 hit the nail on the head, the best way to go is to run the mil spec 15 round mags.

    I recommend that you only consider those that are "USGI".

    All will have the manufacturers code stamped on the spine. All have a blue finish, NOT parkerized.

    If you don't mind waiting a few months, you can get the real thing from the Civilian Marksmanship Program. Otherwise, at least go to their site & read the document describing carbine mags.

    If you ever want to try the 30 round mags, you need the mag release marked M. It takes about 10 seconds to install.
