DPMS Lite

I just purchased a DPMS lite 20 form my local dealer. If I ever wanted to change it to a 16 inch barrel is the barrel all I would need?

    you might need a shorter gas tube if your current rifle has the rifle length gas system.the rest of the gas system(gas block/front sight base,gas tube retaining pin)can be reused provided the barrel diameter is the same

    You would need a shorter handguard also.

    There are several different ways a 16 inch barrel can be set up in regards to the gas hole location, gas block, handguard.

    I will also add, that you may need a different buffer weight. This is something that probably won't need to be changed, but it is a possibility. With your current buffer, its probably a rifle weight buffer or standard weight. Because the decrease in pressure associated with 16 inch barrels, the current buffer may be too light to properly cycle the weapon. This is one of those things, that you probably wouldn't change unless you have issues.

    I just purchased a DPMS lite 16, due to the price. Does anyone feel there is a signifigant difference between the quality of a RRA and a DPMS AR-15?

    i have had DPMS,RRA,Stag, and Colts if i had to rank them i would pick a Stag over all of them because Colt is over priced,Rock River is an excellent gun but i found that a finshed product Stag is better, DPMS is also a marginal product they sat it is "mil-spec" but it is not at all they are just good shooters and they go bang when you pull the trigger. for excelleny quality go to Stag, Rock River, Lewis Machine and Tool, and CMMG
