Winchester 37 20ga 30"

I just pickup up a red letter 20ga with a 30" barrel today for $250. Good gun, real tight. My question is: is the 30" barrel a rare item for a 20ga. How much does it add to the value? Also, about how much would you say the gun is worth? I've never seen a 30" barrel on here for sale.

    There is precious little published information for the Winchester Model 37. Only in very recent years has there been a small amount of collector interest.

    If I had to make an educated guess, I would say No, a 30" barrel on a 20 gauge gun is not a "rare" item, nor will it add much if anything to the value, especially for a marginally collectable gun.

    as bert said, there is not a great following of collectors yet. how ever a real nice red label 28ga. mod. 37 will sell for 1000-1500, a real nice 410 bore. for 250-400, a real nice 20ga for 250-350 and a real nice 16 or 12 ga. will bring 200-300. not bad for a cheat easy to make shotgun that cost 10-15 dollars. eastbank
