Update on Walther/S&W PPK/PPK/S recall

FYI...just got an email from S&W and they said that they will begin the repair in about 2 weeks on these guns and get them back as soon as possible. I'm sure they have hundreds, if not thousands to do, so don't hold your breath. Hopefully the part to fix the problem has been checked out and will, in fact, solve the problem.

  They probably have received thousands already. I doubt you will get it back in a week or even two.

  It would be nice to get a detailed report on exactly what the problem was and how it was repaired. I'm not happy with generalities when it involves serious issues.
  As I mentioned earlier,many years ago I fixed an old German made PPK that had clearly fired when the safety was applied as it broke an internal part. My fix blocked the sear and didn't drop the hammer.
  The problem sounds like it may not be limited to post war, US made pistols of a particular maker.
