murata type 18 model 1885 value??
Hello, I am certainly new to this and recently offered a Murata type 18 on a Gunbroker auction. I started the auction at $650 after being advised it was worth well more than that but it did not get even one bid. Am I wrong or did I make a mistake in my auction somehow? Thought my pic's were good ones. A lot of people viewed it as well.Or was the item a victim or the economy?

Demand, i.e. 2 or more folks bidding against themselves, is what establishes real market value.
Times are tough now for lots of folks, unfortunately putting them in the position of having to sell their collections, rather then buying additional guns.
The current political situation facing gunowners, isn't helping the situation. Many of them that still have money to spend, are using it to buy EBR's, ammo and components. If you have been in any gunstores lately, you know what I mean.
To make a long story short, either put the Murata away, and hope that things get better money wise for folks, down the road? Or drop your starting price substantially on it, and hope for the best.0
