I have a sears & roebuck 22 model number 41-103 19771. I know it is a marlin101. Can anyone tell me what year it was made.

  Hello mrmom61 - I mostly have more questions than answers. As you know,the "41" was a model# that Sears assigned to the Marlin 101. They only used this system for a few years (from about 1959-65). The catalog# 103.19771 specifies the vendor(103=Marlin)& the exact rifle specs. This is important, because sometimes Sears offered things that Marlin didn't catalog(like adjustable triggers). Marlin Model 101's were mostly made from 1959-77 and most of that was in the 60's. If it was made after '68 it must have a serial#. The cocking knob went from a plain knob - to a ring(in 1960)- then to a "T"(in 1966). Changes for "private brand" production probably lagged behind a little to help Marlin use up inventory. So the style of knob will roughly answer your question. My questions are: Does it have "Micro-Groove" on the barrel? Does it say "Sears" or "JC Higgins" on the barrel or buttplate? Does it have any special features, like adj trigger or fancy sights? GoodLuck - RounderRick
