used sig229
I just bought a used sig 229 40cal. The gun was blackend stainless w/2 12 rd mags, fixed sights no rail. This gun has been factory reconditioned by sig. The outside of the box reads excellent condition by sig. I drove about 2hrs to purchase this gun and when I talked to the dealer on the phone he acted as if this gun was new (factory,box 2 mags, gun lock etc.). There is only slight wear on the top of the slide. Everthing else looks almost new. I paid $585. My question is this, did I make a good deal & How good are the factory reconditions ?

You did fine there, you have one of the best out of the box handguns on the market, and you paid a good price for it. I have a 229 SAS and it is the finest handgun I own...and I own a few! 0 -
You have a SIG Certified Pre-owned (CPO) pistol and they're an outstanding value. I'm a SIG armorer and when people inquire about buying one I direct them toward these guns.

I carry a SIG 220 Carry for work, and I own 4 other SIGs, including a reconditioned 229 357/40. That is my favorite gun, and I wish I was allowed to carry the 357 because I would in a second. 0 -
Thanks alot to everyone who responded. I am happy with the sig but can't wait to get my hands on it and shoot. I have never owned a sig of any kind. I have only had colts,s&ws,&glocks. So I am going out on a limb here. 0 -
An old used SIG is probably better than a New anything[:D][:D] 0 -
There is no hand gun better than a Sig. Some equal but none better. My 2 cents 0
