PISTOL ID NEEDED
i need me some info,all i can tell you is it is a derringer type pistol it has the letters little john on it,it is a 7 shot and a 22 lr will fit but it sticks out the back of the cylinder,could it be a 22 short??????????? any info would be very nice.like caliber,make,year thanks ahead of time..

Your information is conflicting- deringers were not revolvers. There were a multitude of inexpensive handguns made with cute names (Tramps Terror was my favorite) Caliber may very well be 22 Short- however, many of these were made in the black powder cartridge era, and should not be fired with ANY modern .22 ammo. The revolver you have pictured was known as a "Suicide Special". They were made during the 1870's/80's, by many different U.S. manufacturers.
As the previous poster noted they were chambered for low pressure Black Powder ammo, and shouldn't be fired with modern smokeless high pressure shorts.
The value would depend mostly on condition, and the various name(s) and marking(s), found on each particular variation. In any case, they are not big buck collectors items.0 -
I'm seeing where " Little John" was a trade name used on inexpensive pocket revolvers made by Hood Firearms Company. It would probably be .22 short, made in Norwich Connecticut. Value should be under $100. 0 -
it is in 22 short..but you can fire it with 22short CB caps no powder but primer fired at 500fps we use these for pest control lots of fun[^] 0
