Rem 700, stainless deal or not???

I fell in love today with a brand new rem 700 stainless rifle. looks like it is the African plains model had an unusual but factory looking gray stock. Gun was mint. guy at counter said he would take $900.00 for it. Rifle is 375 H&H mag. Is this a deal? No Scope but has factory sights. Could be the ultimate deer rifle.
Found it at pawn shop.

    .375 H&H is an elephant rifle not a deer rifle. Have a look at this: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=126191632

    Not trying to sell you a rifle, my point was I think your pawnbroker is too high.

    Obviously you can use a .375 on anything, that doesn't make it a good choice. That said, not having a .375 may be enough reason to buy one.

    That 375 will work on anything from mice to cape buffalo and elephant. Nothing wrong for using it on deer.

    An old man I knew many years ago when I lived in Arizona, had a 375 H+H in a Winchester 70. (Not pre-64). Hunted deer and elk. Used a cast bullet reload, hard cast bullet, reduced velocity. Told me he got his deer every year, for 16 straight years. One shot stop, never recovered a bullet. Said he shot 5 times total on elk with higher velocity gas check loads. Same results. Said recoil was very easy to handle. Told me the reason for the 375 was he had been thinking about a bear hunt in Alaska when he retired, knew wife would pitch a fit over multiple rifles so just bought one, the 375. Said he got it cheap because gunshop owner had had it way to long and owner was tired of looking at it. Told me not only was it deadly on deer and elk, but a great conversation starter with other hunters. Said he would do it the same way if he was to do it over. Said only regret was never got his bear hunt. Nice old man. Not enough like him. I guess if you think that old 375 is a cool caliber, you can make it work for you. Plus as he said, when a hunter asks "what ya carryin", saying a 375 H+H sure makes for interesting conversation.

    I didn't read it as being duplicitous when I wrote it (obviously) but after your comment I see what you mean, although, the comment is still viable no matter how you choose to interpret it. Funny how some things work out sometimes!

    I had found a couple of NIB .375 H&H Remingtons for significantly less money ($675) hence the comment's original intent.

    I'm on the run today so I won't be around until later this evening.
