What is your opinion about the Accuracy of the Weatherby Vanguard out of the box? .300 Win Mag - *Please see below

Get a Remington 700
Get a Ruger M77 MKII
Get a Savage
Get a Winchester 70 pre 64 in perfect condition
.300 Win Mag Sucks get a .300 H&H or any other caliber

  Any idea what a Weatherby Vaguard 300 mag. Whitetails Unlimited 2005/2006 edition,#86 of 400 produced with a grey/black laminated monte carlo stock, topped with a Mueller 4-16x50 IGR/AO tactical scope is worth, all are in beautiful condition. The guy wants 600.00 bucks for it, any opinions on this set up would be appreciated .

  You don't state whether it's been fired or not by the owner, that can make a difference.
  
  'Limited Edition' banquet rifles do not bring any more money when sold after the banquet than a standard factory rifle. They are usually a factory rifle with something changed slightly but not really valued any higher. In this case, they added a plywood stock which is O.K. but it's not special by any means. It's still a Howa in a plywood stock. Weatherby has their Vanguard with a synthetic stock sell for $399.00 and the Mueller is selling new for a tad bit over $200.00 on the internet. It's not a highly regarded scope and the price puts it at the bottom of the heap but it will serve a purpose so long as you don't abuse it.
  
  This is no bargain in my opinion. If it's been fired at all, it's really not a bargain. He's asking the full MSRP for a potentially used rifle. I'd look elsewhere.
