50bmg ar lower

hey experts got to pick your brains. heres the deal i was at knobb creek last weekend and met a vender who makes 50bmg uppers for the ar15 or m16 the name was ligamec corp out of florida. ok heres my ?s is that a good company trust worthey ect. next how acurate are these set ups if im going to have a 50 cal i want 1000 yards in my range is it possable with this. the last question is how bad is recoil from one of these rifles the guy there said about like a 12 gauge but i figure it would be more like hulk hogan with a 20lb hammer. he has a web site it is ultralite50.com. i know this mite not b the bearret m182 but it looks cool and it is affordable for the poor man who wants to reach out there but is it worth it experts tell me what u think i want to know it all good bad otherwise appericate it fellas

    That machinegun shoot at the Creek is something to behold, isn't it?

    I do not know much about the vendor you described, but I do know about recoil from a Barret M95. It is like a single shot ultralite 12 gauge shotgun shooting a 1.5 ounce 3.5 inch deer slug. It hurts.

    You don't need a 50 BMG to reach 1000 yards, and if you are worrying about the price of the gun, it isn't for you anyway. The ammo will cost you way more than the gun to get proficient with it...if you can tolerate the recoil. A 300 Winchester Magnum has won many of 1000 yard match contests'. Cost a lot less too.

    Depending on the muzzle brake these things can kick like two mules or hardly at all. You would have to be able to try them individually to see what you would like or could take.

    Accuracy depends on the manufacturer. The 50 BMG can be incredibly accurate. The 1000 yd. record is something like 2.6". Sniper shots have been recorded with the 50 BMG as far out as 2500 yds and 2400 + meters (2650 yds). Again though, it depends on manufacturer. Quality needs to be built into every one of their rifles. Good quality doesn't necessarily mean high prices all the time either.

    Which leads me to say that a .50 cal is really for 1000 yards and beyond. There isn't really a whole lot of point in my opinion to shooting it under that. There are several cartridges that will get you to 1000 and beyond without the expense of the .50 Those calibers are .243 Win/6mm Rem. w/tight twist shooting 95 VLD's-115's in several flavors. 25-06 using 115's or 120's. .260/6.5x55 using 140/142 gr. bullets (or 6.5-.284) 7mm-08, .280 Rem, .284 Win, 7mm Rem Mags(3). shooting 162/168-180 gr. match bullets. .308/30-06 300 Win Mags(3) shooting high BC match bullets. 8x57, .325 WSM, 8 Rem Mag shooting 196-250 gr. Match bullets. .338 Shooting it's upper end bullets. Some of these rounds have done tremendously well beyond 2000 yards. And they are a lot cheaper to feed than the .50 cal. That's where I would go for long range shooting irons, but that's just me...and most of the rest of the shooting community.

    When you get to the larger calibers that I mentioned, having a muzzle brake makes it a lot easier to handle and keep shooting. If you get it adjusted just right, they will possibly allow you to watch the bullet hit.

    Ask this vendor if any of his guns have set any world records? Then look at the A.L.S. @ www.50bmg.net . The A.L.S. upper conversions have set three to my knowledge and are extremely well built by the owner. He uses Pac-Nor barrels. Everything is hand fitted with no welds. He is a very busy builder.
