Looking for a Manufacturer
Can anyone out there shed some light on a double barrel 12 guage shotgun which looks very much like a Stevens 311. Unfortunately there is no manufacturer's name on the barrels. The only information is the serial number of T77XX which may serve as a clue for someone more knowledgeable than I am. I would appreciate anyone availble information.

Probably not as there have been dozens of manufacturers of single and double shotguns, many of whom were absorbed by Stevens, Savage, Crescent. Additionally, the larger companies made many different guns similar to their own models under trade names for mail order houses, hardware stores, and others.
Without some unique, identifying characteristic, such as a particular type of lock, proof marks, unique set triggers and hammers, or without markings of some kind anything you are told about your shotgun is merely a guess.
I know that's not what you want to hear but even with some of the well marked name brands information is sometimes pretty sketchy.

With in focus close-up pictures of all parts butt plate. action opened and closed Checkering pattern ETC we may be able to tell you the parent company of who made your shot gun . If it is made outside the U.S.A. it should have some proof marks without pictures and from your description anything will just be a WAG. 0 -
