Winchester Model 190 disassembly ?

I am trying to disassemble a winchester model 190 Semi auto. I do not have a manual to follow. I have successfully removed the stock, trigger assembly, return spring, bolt, etc

The problem is I cannot seem to figure out how to remove the barrel and magazine from the forearm and "reciever" This piece I am referering to as the reciever is piece #36 on the attached schematic. It is one part that is not listed, so I do not know the official name of the part.

Does anyone have some expierience with this particular model that could help out?

    From my (somewhat foggy memory) near the muzzle you'll find the outer mag. tube retaining pin. Tap it out and pull the outer mag tube out. The forend should just drop down. To remove the barrel (you'll need to remove the rear sight) you may need a spanner wrench to get the barrel nut off. Removing the barrel from the receiver may prove difficult if it has not been removed previously as the aluminum receiver and steel barrel may be oxidized and the danger of ruining rhe receiver is quite possible. A good book explaining this rifle is by Gun Digest Firearms Assembly/Disassembly part 3: Rimfire Rifles. Hope I helped some.

    Pulling the mag tube is the way to go. Would strongly advise against try to remove barrel from the receiver. If you do not have the tools to do this right, I'll bet you a beer that you WILL bugger up the aluminum receiver. But once the mag tube is pulled forward, forearm should be free.

    I will give it a try. That is removeing the tube magazine. so far things have not been to bad taking it a part. I might have to take your advice on the barrel removal though. This gun was actually found outside. It certainly was dirty. everything seems to be functioning, but it is extremely dirty.

    Thanks for the help. Dont cut yourself short on the "foggy" memory. It worked exactly as you said. Now that you brought it to my attention, I dont know how I missed it before. Oh well, Im just thankful for the "ask the experts" forum where I can get advice from other enthusiasts.
