Hi Standard Model "B" takedown

Have an old H.S. Mod "B" in which the take-down lever on right side of frame won't rotate down. It shoots okay but it hasn't been cleaned in quite a while. Any help is appreciated.

    Check With BoBSKI I have a model be but will be friday before I can take it down and get back to you . Maybe Bobski can tell you off the top of his head he is an old guy and plays with these OLD High Standards I like the younger Military Grip models. Cheers Karl.Does your model b have one lever on the left side "safety" and one small rotating lever on the right side or TWO LEVERS on the left side[?][?][?]

    I believe that the takedown lever won't rotate down unless the side is pulled all the way back. The button on top of the slide is depressed, then the slide is pushed all the way forward. If the recoil spring has been captured/restrained correctly? The takedown lever can be then depressed as the slide is pulled to the rear, off the frame.

    Hello I had just gotten my model HB out and taken the slide off when I came to enter this reply I saw your post Rufe Snow is correct with magazine out pull slide all the way back while "ALL" the way back press down on round button on the slide "FIRMLY" hold down and now let the slide move forward . It will only spring forward a small amount slide the rest of the way forward and when it touches the back of the barrel reach up and rotate the lever on the right side holding in the rotated position you can now slide the slide backward and it will clear all the way off the frame.     Hi Karl, I love it when it's easy!! Unfortunely, this "B" is a bear. The stop lug won't rotate downward to clear the slide. So far I have removed the TD lever and it's plunger and spring. Even with the slide stop loose in the frame it won't move downward enough so the leg on it's left side will clear the back of the recoil spring assm. Perhaps the stop lugs' plunger and/or spring is jammed up??? How to get to that, I haven't a clue. Thanks for trying to help. Thad

    Take the grips off and get some KROIL put the pistol in a plastic ZIP LOCK bag and use the kroil on every crack pin hole frame opening etc holding gun upside down het it say in bag 24 hours . I will take mine down and see what might be your trouble of course mine is a HB with external hammer. [?]TRIED mine again and I had to hold the hammer slightly past full cock to get the slide off I dont know how this would be different then a straight B model. I had a fommer STOP pistol that had a burr and it took me 6 monthes to get it apart I bought another poor condition pistol just to find out if I was doing something wrong. I hate it when I can't get something apart.
