M1A used McMillan
I bought a Springfield M1A National Match during the Clinton gun grab in '93. The prices were actually going up by the hour. I shot it in the NRA HighPower matches and achieved "Sharpshooter" rank in '95. This rifle had a major malfunction on the 300 yard line with the stock "splitting" in two at the cross bolt. I continued to the 600 yard line and made 6 or 7 X's / 10's before I lost composure.
It now has the desert camo design from McMillan in fiberglass stock.
I just had a refurb done on it by a local full-auto gunsmith here in Texas, and he said that the barrel life was good.
Has about 3-4 thousand rds thru it.

Was there a question somewhere in that paragraph I didn't catch?
I traded my Colt SP1 Lower with an M4 profile A2 fixed carry handle upper even during the gunban of 94 for my M1A. I don't regret it one bit. However it doesn't get to eat much. I've pretty much exhausted my stock pile of handloading supplies and all the loaded 168gr moly coated BHTP I had for it. Kinda sucks. I'm pretty much sitting on what I've got for now. Not even shooting anymore cause I don't wanna waste the ammo.0
