Can anyone tell me where to get a owners manual for a steyr aug a-1 or a disassemly and assembly print that i can us to learn about the steyr-aug i bought. And i would like to try to find some spare parts also.If you can help i would realy appreciate it!!!

    There is this thing called Google, where almost everything can be found. Here is a link to an AUG forum:


    There is a link to a manual along the upper right side.

    In the meantime, I shall try to recall how to disassemble one without going to the vault room to verify. The guns are simple to disassemble as I recall.

    Lock the bolt carrier back. Push the barrel release button, turn the barrel and it comes off. Release the bolt carrier to go forward again. Push in the middle of the butt plate in the area where the swivel pin goes through, which will release the swivel pin so it can be pulled out. Once it is out, the butt plate will come off and the trigger group can be extracted. Push the square button just above and ahead of the magazine well to the right, which will release the receiver and bolt carrier group. (Hold the receiver back into the stock since there is a little spring pressure on it.) The receiver and bolt carrier assembly then can be pulled out forward from the stock. The bolt carrier is then free to be separated from the receiver. Simple.

    Apparently, nononsense has invaded my post and eliminated the link to the AUG site that I had put up trying to help spaz126. I have been on these boards since 2000 and that is the first time such a thing has happened to me. I assume I must have violated some rule of which I am not aware. If so, I apologize to all.

    I am wondering why my link was eliminated, and have sent nononsense a private email posing that question. I am sure I have seen links to other sites, so what makes the link I posted different? Does anyone know why my link was eliminated?

    spaz126, since my link was eliminated, you will have to do a Google search for the AUG and look for the AUG forum. There is a manual there, but, apparently you dare not link to it here.

    I didn't invade your post, I edited it.

    Links are fine so long as they aren't directing GB members to other forums, which yours was. Links are a fine method of conveying information without having to do a C&P or take the time to write a book.

    I'm sure you have seen links in other posts and you will continue to do so in the future. I don't get to read or check every post on every thread nor does Bert or The Captain. But the basic guidelines are that links to other forums will deleted when found and all other links will remain.
