Value of new compared to used??

How much value does a gun lose if you shoot it?? Let me explain. I just bought a 1894 Fg NIB and I want to shoot it but I bought it as a collectors peice. I like the 41 and I am interested in seeing how well it shoots but dont want it to lose any value for resale reasons.
