AR accu wedge install

upon slipping the wedge in my lower it will not clear the pin and the upper will clearly not close completely. Obviously, excessive force should not be required. I should not have to trim the wedge. Are they not made for S&W recievers or Roggio recievers?

    The wedges require you to press down with enough force to compress the wedge. It might be that is the problem. They have to fit tightly to work properly.

    I just can't feature pushing down hard enough to get this thing closed. It just seems way too large.

    They are made for all different lower receivers they are not receiver specific. I had to trim some of mine and it still took some force to close them but they are all tight now.

    Throw it away or give it to someone whose rifle it will fit. That's what I did.

    I bought an Accu-Wedge for my M16 when I had one and it fit fine. When I got my Smith & Wesson M&P15T, and gave back the M16, I kept the wedge to install in the S&W, but it won't fit. There is no place to put it. I don't think it will fit even if trimmed. I left it on the work bench in the armory for someone else to use if they choose to. No one has.

    You don't need it anyway. Removing the slop between upper and lower does not contribute any to the rifle's accuracy.

    Thanks for the second opinion. I would have to trim it down to squat to fit my smith.

    Take your 'Accu-Wedge' outside and throw it as far as you can.

    Those gadgets to NOTHING for your AR.

    use a razor blade to shave the bottom off to make a perfect fit.

    I never understood why they called it Accuwedge. All it does is to tighten up loose fit between an upper and lower receiver. It has nothing to do with accuracy of the rifle. If your AR rattles, then use it, if it does not chunk it.
