    In the ATE forum you are limited to 10 answers so I dont know how far you are going to get.

    For me the answer is the Keltec 3AT.

    I'd go with the slightly larger like the Kel Tec PF-9..it's not much larger about 1/2 inch than the 3at. I'd stay away from .380, if your gonna look at .380 you might as well step up to a 9mm that gives more variety in defense ammo choices as well as a HUGE difference in performance over a .380.

    Just my opinion....the PD I work for doesn't allow any off duties smaller than 9mm.....

    My pocket carry is the tiny, reliable Seecamp, which comes chambered in either the .32acp or .380acp. Mine has performed flawlessly for over twenty years.

    I carry the Ruger LCP .380 both on duty, as a back up weapon and off duty because it is so compact, and use Federal "self Defense" ammo. Many of the guys that I know that have owned or used KelTecs did not like them and they would jam up on them at times. The LCP did just have a huge recall but if you purchase a new one now you don't have to worry about the recall.

    I'll give a +1 to the Kel Tec P3AT. Mine has been flawless while I have seen several officers at the range with malfunctioning LCPs.

    Smith 638 or Colt Mustang. Those two are probably as good as it gets for auto and revolver.

    Walther P22 would be the cheap way to go! Dont let anyone tell you that a .22 isn't a good defence gun.
