mini 6.8, mini 30, or mini 14 target
I looking to buy a mini but im trying to weigh out the pros and cons between those rifles. The only reason i havent bought a 6.8spc is because i haven seen much of any accessories for the rifle. I havent purchased a mini 14 cause i want a bigger round but i like the target rifle with harmonic stabilizer but couldnt you just adjust your own weight system on any barrel? Ammo i load my own. Any help would be great. Thanks

why? what accesories do you need. ars are easier than minis. 6.8 ammo cost is thru the roof and hard to find.

Well i want an all aroun auto load rifle that shoots decent in accuracy. The 6.8 is a good round and theres not much more in price than .243 ammo if you load your own. I want something to hunt with that can take a beating and still be good defense rifle. Accessories would be muzzle break or that new harmonic stabilizer i heard works great but not really looking for a .223 cal. 0 -
I have not heard much about the 6.8 accuracy. My guess is it isnt a tack driver. You could send one to various specialty shops but thats going to cost an awful lot. 0 -
Ya it gets pretty expensive at the specialty shops. Thats the problem with the 6.8 theres not a whole lot of feedback on them. Im stuck between the 6.8 and mini 30. 0 -

Only thing I can think of it that people like the platform. AR's are dirty and prone to breakage. The john garand design is better than stoners unless you use a piston AR thats a different bag. Minis are super simple and they do not make a M1A in 223.0 -

Actually, it is accurate:
"After about forty-five rounds were fired through the rifle, the groups started getting better, and better, and still better, shrinking in size with every new group fired. That may be true about the old minis, but I have a new one with the new 18.5" heavy barrel, and it will do 1" groups at 100 yards all day long.0 -

Ya i heard the same thing on another fourm about the groups getting better the more you shoot the rifle and clean and oil it after the shots. I think im just going to buy one and have to try it out for my self. For reloading dies does anybody know if you can use the same dies as a .270?0 -
Yes i like the platform and there easier to teardown than an AR and from what i here the newer mini's are alot more accurate out of the box. Plus in states were you have to have a mag lock on an AR while a mini is not considered an assault rifle.quote:Originally posted by chrishiher
